John Ha
PARTNER
John Ha is a partner at DCH Law LLP. His areas of practice cover a range of business and financial matters, including project development, construction, and operation, project and tax equity financing and mergers and acquisitions in the energy and infrastructure sector, with an emphasis on renewable energy including wind, solar, geothermal and energy storage projects.
His experience extends to many elements of renewable energy development and finance, including power purchase and REC agreements, equipment supply agreements, construction (EPC and BOP) contracts, O&M and asset management agreements, and merger and acquisition agreements.
Prior to joining DCH Law LLP, John was most recently a senior counsel with Akin Gump’s Global Energy Practice group and has spent his entire legal career of over 17 years in the project development and project finance space. He also served as an in-house senior counsel with the Power and Gas Division at Siemens Energy, supporting the products and solutions businesses for large gas turbines, steam turbines and controls, including work on some of the first development financing transactions for such businesses.
Prior to his time at Akin Gump and Siemens, John was an associate at several of the premier project finance practices globally at Milbank, Morgan Lewis and Chadbourne, where he worked on multiple Project Finance magazine “Deals of the Year”.
Mr. Ha received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1994, his M.A. from George Washington University, The Elliot School of International Affairs in 1998 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2001, where he was a member of The Tax Lawyer journal.
Outside of his professional pursuits, John enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and following Chicago professional sports.
