DAVE ROBERTS
COUNSEL
Dave Roberts is Counsel at DCH Law LLP. Dave acts as external General Counsel to businesses with insight rooted in his experience leading companies, as internal legal counsel, and as an engineer. His areas of practice include intellectual property strategy, joint development agreements, commercial contracts, and licensing agreements.
Prior to joining DCH Law LLP, Dave served as CEO of Battery Innovation Center, a public-private partnership focused on helping companies validate proprietary energy storage technologies, and as CEO of EnerDel, a lithium-ion battery manufacturer. At EnerDel, Dave also held leadership roles in subsidiaries focused on hydrogen fuel cell technology and a legacy battery manufacturer in Korea, as well as a board role on a JV with Wanxiang. In each role, Dave effectively worked with global investors and multinational board members. Dave remains active in the battery industry with his role as a VP with NAATBatt International and is active in the new energy investment field as part of Project Energy Reimagined Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ:PEGR).
Previously, Dave served as in-house counsel for Caterpillar, focusing on intellectual property and commercial matters across a range of Caterpillar business and research units. Of note, Dave oversaw patent portfolios related to hybrid powertrain systems and advanced material development for various applications.
In private practice over the course of his career, Dave has helped companies build patent portfolios with patent preparation and prosecution activities, counseled companies on early-stage formation and funding considerations, and has worked with boards of directors to develop and execute complex business strategies. Before law school, Dave served as a failure analyst with Lockheed Martin and in the semiconductor industry.
