Bill DuFour

CO-FOUNDER EMERITUS

Bill D. DuFour III is a co-founder emeritus of DCH Law LLP. He no longer works for the firm or practices law with the firm.  However, the firm retains this page in honor and recognition of Bill’s irreplaceable contribution to making the firm what it is today.

Bill’s areas of practice through his time at the firm covered a range of business and financial matters, including renewable energy, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. In particular, Bill brought extensive experience in wind and solar project acquisition, development, and finance.

Prior to co-founding DCH Law LLP, Bill was a member of Foley & Lardner’s internationally ranked Energy Industry Team. Bill previously worked at the U.S. Department of Energy in the Office of General Counsel. His experience also includes serving as a judicial intern in the Supreme Court of Virginia. Before beginning his legal career, he joined Teach For America and taught math and science for three years at Henry Clay Middle School in South Los Angeles.

Recognition 

Bill was selected for inclusion in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Southern California Super Lawyers-Rising Stars® lists, an award reserved for the top 2% of attorneys under the age of 40, as voted by their peers. In 2014, The Legal 500 recognized Bill for his work in the area of renewable energy.

Bill is a frequent author, speaker and panelist on topics related to renewable energy, as well as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School, where he teaches a class on alternative energy development and finance. His recent publications and speaking engagements include:
